Destiny 2: Shadowkeep – Two Weeks Later

I think I’ve mentioned this at least once, I fell in love with Destiny 2 again the moment I moved to PC. I absolutely felt a difference from playing on console and I don’t think I could ever go back to playing this on a console unless it’s an Xbox.

I thought I liked playing Hunter, but after moving to PC. It’s obvious to me that this class works much better than it did on the PS4. I should consider playing with my Titan now and see the difference but since I’m so in love with the Hunter class, I don’t want to budge.

The campaign so far isn’t super captivating but it’s also not boring. It’s somewhat interesting since they’re finally addressing the post-credits scene from the core game. It’s gotten my attention and I want to know what happens next, but I’m in no rush to get there.

While this ‘Season Pass’ concept is entirely comparable to the ‘Battle Pass’ concept from Fortnite (and incidentally enough, a bunch of other games since then), I like the way Destiny 2 has done this. Instead of me having to complete challenges that are very much impossible for me to understand eighty percent of the time, here I can just gab some bounties, play a couple of things and go up a rank really comfortably. If I run out of bounties, I can buy extra one(or five) and repeat.

My ‘Season Pass’ feels attainable at this rate. Two weeks later and I’m rank 32. This is a vastly stark contrast from Fortnite where I could spend 5 hours trying to do the challenges, get kills, and level up and probably only move up one battle pass tier if I’m lucky. They say that the you can unlock the entire battle pass by playing, it’ll just take 70+ hours to do so. You can also just buy the tiers with V-bucks but I don’t have that kind of money to spare.

I have a full time job. No thanks. I can’t do that. I’d rather spend those hours across multiple games and rotating among them. After just a few rounds of Battle Royale in Fortnite, I’m not in my happy place anymore.

This week also marks the first Iron Banner of the season. They’ve only prepared new armor this time around and while I like it, I’ve heard some people say they don’t like its appearance. Looking forward to eventually having new weapons down the road.

I’m annoyed that I have to complete a new quest before being able to claim the leftover tokens from last Iron Banner. At least I was able to complete the first step last night fairly quick.

Regardless, Destiny 2 is enjoyable for me again and I’m happy to bring this game back into my rotation. I’m excited to finish that campaign eventually, just trying to get through my backload of Exotic quests from the first two years of the game. I already have the Polaris Lance, Thorn, and I’m eagerly waiting to get that Bad Juju. (I know it sucks in the current meta. I just enjoyed it a lot last game.)

I did update my Division 2 to try and play Title Update 6 last night but I’ll get to that at another time. 😛
