I’ve made a mess of this list and abandoned it. I’ve been having it a little rough with my mental health this year but I’m pushing through it. I have to do better though, which is why I’m aiming to finally finish this list!
Let’s do this.
9. BLACKPINK – Playing with Fire (2016)
Out of everything that BLACKPINK has released over the years, this song ended up beating last year’s ‘Don’t Know What to Do’ by very little. I ended up picking up this one because I overplayed it when it came out. I was belting this in the shower at the top of my lungs, tried to choreograph something for it, and it fueled a few FanFiction scenes at the time. Heck, I still sometimes randomly replay it because it just creeps up.
8. MAMAMOO – Starry Night (2018)
Yes, I was going to pick ‘Hip’ but this one was the one that randomly took hold of me during summer of 2018 after I actually started listening to them. Also, I love stars maybe a little bit too much so this one for me was an obvious choice. It’s a beautiful song that showcases everyone’s vocal ability in a beautiful, haunting, and soft melody. I also belted this one in the shower. I seem to have a pattern here.
Just because I can’t help myself, here. Have some ‘Hip’.
7. Super Junior – No Other (2010)
Yes, SuJu is twice on this list. This song is insanely adorable. I didn’t get to see it performed live in SMTown 2011 because it wasn’t on the set list, but you bet I totally wish they’d perform it on their new tour if they ever go to the US. Also, let’s be real. This music video was for Hyukkie to flash is hard-worked abs to the world after Siwon’s been showing his off for years.
6. Girl’s Day – Nothing Lasts Forever (2010)
I initially had another song here but then I was reminded that this song came out and 2010 and I had to switch bops. After a very weak debut(cringe material too), Girl’s Day lost two of their members in September and added new ones prior to their first comeback. We were graced with this gem, the song that brought them into the fold. This also introduced us to Minah better than their debut single ever could.
And there we have it, four more songs to the list. Only two more posts left to go! Some honorable recommendations and my personal top five songs for the 2010s.
See you in the next one!
