I remember when this song came out. I was in college, trying to consume as much K-pop as possible. I was into it so much. Abracadabra took the fans by storm and then Brown Eyed Girls released this.
I subconsciously knew why I picked this for this week. The song is just really deep, emotional, powerful. The choreography was great too. I thought it was a great follow up to Abracadabra, though not many people would be inclined to agree.
This is one of those moments where K-pop isn’t all rainbows and sunshine. It’s not cute lyrics about the one you love, or about how you’re going to win over the guy you have a crush on. It’s about a person being broken, in pain.
Considering how anxious I’ve been these past couple of days, picking this song actually makes a lot of sense. (Initially, I was going to go with After School but I’ll save that for next week perhaps). Life is tough. Having anxiety over many things is rough. I can’t keep letting it get to me though. I need to keep fighting, keep living.
The thoughts can’t win.
