Fruit Ninja Kinect 2

So…I bought some time back Fruit Ninja Kinect 2 for my Xbox one and I’ve had a lot of fun with it. Hence this post about the game.

It’s a completely different mechanic from the last Fruit Ninja game available. My sisters and I have already played the previous demo for the 360 without having to buy the game. I bought this one because after watching various people play it one line I thought, why not??

It has a lot of new game modes where you really have to move around. The first one you get to play has to do with  dodging shurikens while at the same time trying to obliterate  some fruit. I didn’t even understand that was the point of that game until I saw how many points I’d lost in the entire process of the level. It gives you clear indicators as to where the shuriken is going to hit you, I was just too engrossed trying to hit fruits.

The next sort of levels are all different variants of ninja skills to develop aside from including the traditional game modes that are in a separate game hub.

It’s highly noteworthy that one of my favorite game modes is actually taking full advantage of the Kinect’s capabilities and you have to hit these targets, proportionate to the screen. You can’t go too high or too low, you’re going to miss nailing the fruit to the target if you do that. That is so damn precise. It’s hard to get the hang of it and to this point in my gameplay, I still don’t have a handle on it. It’s fun though.

I also was fourtunate enough to have someone play with me so the multiplayer aspect was also dabbled into. I did have fun with both game modes, particularly the one where it’s a chaotic free for all. It’s so much fun and the bonus objectives totally give you the chance for anyone to catch up. I lost one match but won the other one…so it’s totally kick ass to play.

So…is this game worth it? Oh yes, definitely. You should check it out! Play it with friends too!

And I’m done, Michi out!!

  1. Fruit Ninja Kinect 2 is a lot of fun! The Kinect on Xbox One is often ignored these days, but between Fruit Ninja, Dance Central and Just Dance there’s still a lot of fun to be had with the device. I had never played the first Fruit Ninja Kinect, but I enjoyed the iPad game so I already knew playing it with the Kinect would be just as fun!

    1. I have to agree! I can’t wait for more titles to engage in Kinect options. I spent money for the whole package and I use my Kinect for very few titles sadly.
